New Hampshire Apprentice

Last week  (September 2015) a two day coppice apprentice recruitment event took place in a Hampshire wood near Swanmore. A number of people took part in cutting and processing hazel rods, making a sweet chestnut gate hurdle and a hazel wattle hurdle. The successful candidate John Hofman will start working with sprightly, 80 year old coppice cutter, hurdle and spar maker Ken Galton at the end of October.

Current Dorset apprentice John Sweeney also successfully completed his end of year assessment and joined in the activities.
